National Bank’s new workspaces, dedicated for the Treasury and Corporate Investment Banking (CIB) teams, were designed in the prestigious Sun Life heritage building, which significantly influenced the interior design. The environment embodies refined and timeless elegance while meeting the functional needs of users.

Desiring to offer the occupants of 1155 Metcalfe a distinct environment from the standards established at its head office, National Bank entrusted VAD with the design mandate for a space tailored to the reality of the Treasury and CIB group, combining prestige without ostentation.

The bistro area is distinguished by its informal character. Particularly suited to the working style of Traders and investment banking analysts, who make up the majority of the user base,  it offers a gathering place conducive to relaxation and socialization. Users can have a meal while remaining connected to the evolution of the stock market. This multifunctional place also doubles as a reception area, thus introducing an innovative approach to the design of workspaces.

The office, who rarely receives exterior visitors, has optend for a more functional and contemporary approach, eliminating the reception counter and the dedicated resource.

The industrial-chic-art deco design proposedby VAD is reflected in every element of the layout. From the glass partitions featuring bronze accents that evoke contemporary refinement, to the Terrazzo-effect floor covering recalling the era in which the building was built, every detail has been carefully thought out. The addition of wood on certain surfaces, combined with a current approach, offers a harmonious balance between tradition and modernity.
