Recently, the VAD Tribe gathered for a team-building creative activity, led by our colleagues.
During a guided workshop, we were invited to formulate a wish related to the collective, a wish to send out into the Universe for the year ahead.
Our wish was then ready to be placed inside a work of art, encapsulated and sealed to be preserved for eternity, or until we feel like rereading them one day.
Imagined by Marc and Tanya, the creation, made from Russian birch and felt rectangles recovered from one of our construction sites, served as a vessel for wishes.
On the front of the artwork, about a hundred blue felt confetti pieces were freely arranged, evoking the collective.
On the back of the wooden canvas, pierced twenty times — one opening for each team member — twenty small capsules were attached, ready to receive the words of all VADians.
One by one, we were invited to write our wish on a small piece of paper, then select an opening in the canvas to insert it once rolled up.
We then sealed our wish with a red felt tile, glued over the opening.
More than a visual artwork, Capsules of Hope contains the strength of a group and the collective hope of the entire Tribe.
With this small team project, we allowed ourselves to dream for a moment of a better world, taking the time to ask ourselves: what does the world need for the year ahead? For the future?
It allowed us to come together for a team activity combining art and kindness — and, of course, to open a few bubbles too!
