The power to take action for all, with the creation of the VAD committees.

Life at VAD
At the beginning of 2021, VAD introduced a new way to organize the efforts and energy of the members of the Tribe with the arrival of the VAD committees!
Since the very beginning, the team’s activities and creative initiatives had been orchestrated sporadically, according to employees’ interests, ideas and availability. Occasionally, a good idea would remain in the air for a long time before we had the opportunity to focus on it.
We had been cultivating the desire to create more organized committees for some time, and this year, at last, the program was officially launched, much to the delight of the members of the Tribe.
We first established parameters to guide the committees.
Excerpt from the VAD Employee Handbook:
The committees will be composed of employees who are not members of management, but the partners will certainly be curious and enthusiastic to see the progress of the initiatives developed. The committees are free to set their own meeting rhythm.
But beware! Committees are like minority governments: on average, people stay in them for 2 years. After two (2) years of serving on a committee, you will be invited to choose a new one to ensure rotation and stimulate exchanges. Comfort zones are meant to be surpassed.
Here is a brief overview of the five (5) VAD committees and their mission:
Well-being Committee: Encourage the implementation of actions that promote employee health and well-being. Support healthy behaviours
in nutrition, physical and mental health, and ergonomics.
Green Committee: Set objectives and improve the environmental performance of our workplace. Enhance our design practices in terms of sustainable development.
Happiness Committee: Support the team in organizing annual events. Implement initiatives that make daily life at VAD happier.
Outreach Committee: Support the permanent team in participating in events aimed at promoting VAD.
Industry Committee: Oversee activities related to the materials library, supplier relationships and the organization of lunch & learns. Highlight the VAD materials library and propose avenues for innovation.
