The Association québécoise de récupération des contenants de boissons (AQRCB) plays a key role in the implementation of Consignation initiatives and of the return point system in Quebec. Faced with the exponential growth of its members, the AQRCB needed a new workspace that would be attractive and flexible while reflecting its values. This was the perfect opportunity for VAD to design and create their brand-new head office.

To align the workspace with the organization’s vision and ambitions, VAD explored multiple occupancy scenarios, ultimately selecting a model tailored to a hybrid work environment. For the emerging team, it was essential to gather in a welcoming and positive environment.

The chosen scenario highlights flexible and adaptive spaces including the introduction of unassigned workstations, diverse collaboration areas to encourage informal exchanges and enclosed rooms for focused work. The designers prioritize an approach centered on optimization, circularity, and a strong sense of community.

The new head office draws inspiration from third-wave coffee culture. With brown and green tones, the color palette creates a warm atmosphere in perfect harmony with the modern and sustainable vision of the association.

A careful attention was given to eco-responsibility, circular design, and sourcing local materials, finishes, and furnishings—reflecting the AQRCB’s values.

For VAD, this challenging project was a unique opportunity to showcase their expertise and creativity.
